SABLE ONONE was discovered in the 1990s by the distinguished engineer Onyumbe Ona Nembalemba. After presenting his research findings to a scientific review panel who validated his work with great satisfaction, the sand was simply named using the initials of its discoverer: ONYUMBE ONa NEMBALEMBA.
Le sable ONONE a été découvert dans les années 90 par l'illustre ingénieur Onyumbe Ona Nembalemba. Après avoir présenté les résultats de ses recherches avec satisfaction du corps scientifique qui constituait le panel de révision, le sable a simplement été baptisé par les initiales du nom de son chercheur : ONYUMBE ONa NEMBALEMBA.
Civil and Systems Engineer Gabriel ONYUMBE, born Onyumbe Ona Nembalemba, son of grandparents Nembalemba Jean and Veronique Osomba, was born on June 5, 1946 in Shenga, Sankuru Province. He completed his primary education at Tshumbe's École Catholique Ste Marie, then secondary school at Collège St Augustin in Lodja, graduating in the mathematics-physics stream.
L'Ingénieur Civil Gabriel ONYUMBE né Onyumbe Ona Nembalemba, petit-fils de Nembalemba Jean et Veronique Osomba, est né le 5 juin 1946 à Shenga dans la province du Sankuru. Il a fait ses études primaires à Tshumbe à l'école Catholique Ste Marie, puis ses études secondaires au collège St Augustin à Lodja où il a terminé en section math-physique.
He was retained after his final year to teach mathematics at Collège St Albert le Grand in Tshumbe. He later earned his Civil Engineering degree from UNAZA (Université du Zaïre) in 1976, followed by a Systems Engineering qualification in France in the early 1980s. He began his career at the Office des Routes (1976–1979), then joined the Ministry of Finance, before being recruited by the Gécamines (GCM) on September 25, 1980. He rose to Head of the Architecture and Construction Department (DAC) in Likasi from 1983 until 1993, then served in the Studies and Construction Department (EC) until the end of his life.
Il sera retenu après sa dernière année pour enseigner les mathématiques au collège St Albert le grand à Tshumbe. Il décrochera son diplôme d'Ingénieur Civil en Construction à l'UNAZA en 1976, puis son titre d'Ingénieur Système en Informatique en France au début des années 80. Il commencera sa carrière à l'Office des Routes (1976–1979), rejoindra le Ministère des Finances, avant d'être engagé à la Gécamines le 25 septembre 1980. Il deviendra chef de service du DAC à Likasi de 1983 à 1993, puis travaillera au Département d'Études et Construction jusqu'à la fin de sa vie.
